Prior to his presenting duties at Sunday’s Olivier awards, Dan walked the red carpet and spoke to several media outlets, mostly about his upcoming play The Cripple of Inishmaan, which started rehearsals on Monday. See the videos here and here, including one with BBC Radio 2′s Anneka Rice here.
Opening in previews on the 8th of June, The Michael Grandage company has now released two very brief teaser trailers for the production:
With rehearsals for Cripple of Inishmaan starting on Monday, Dan was a guest on this morning’s Radio 2 Breakfast Show, chatting to host Chris Evans about the play, his upcoming films The F Word, Horns and Kill Your Darlings, and a whole host of other subjects.
Dan also chose the music for his segment of the show, and it’s a fantastic playlist (which you can listen to here):
Iggy Pop – The Passenger
T. Rex – Ride A White Swan
Blue – Hurt Lovers
The Killers – Somebody Told Me
The Libertines – Don’t Look Back Into the Sun
Franz Ferdinand – Take Me Out
The Kinks – Sunny Afternoon Johnny
Hates Jazz – Magnetized
Dan, who has been working on a screenplay, told Chris that he has recently finished it, and hopes that it will be the first script he’ll direct. He also talked about the book he is reading at the moment, The Year of Living Biblically, about a man who spent a year abiding by the rules of the bible.
You can listen to the entire programme here.
Dan will be on the Chris Evans Breakfast Show this Friday between 8:15am and 9:15am, talking about The Cripple of Inishmaan, which begins rehearsals on Monday. Those of you in the UK can listen online. The show listing says:
