Ralph Fiennes and Miranda Richardson Join All-Star Cast of "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" for Warner Bros. Pictures.

BURBANK, CA, August 4, 2004 – Ralph Fiennes (Red Dragon, Maid in Manhattan, Schindler’s List) and Miranda Richardson (The Hours, Sleepy Hollow, The Crying Game) have joined the all-star cast of Warner Bros. Pictures’ Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the fourth film adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s popular Harry Potter novel series. Fiennes will play Harry Potter’s nemesis, the evil Lord Voldemort, and Richardson takes on the role of muckraking journalist Rita Skeeter.

"Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" is directed by Mike Newell (Mona Lisa Smile, Four Weddings and a Funeral) and produced by David Heyman from a screenplay by Steve Kloves. David Barron serves as executive producer.

As previously announced, the production has welcomed several new cast members to the ensemble, including Brendan Gleeson (Troy, Cold Mountain), who plays Hogwarts’ new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher Mad-Eye Moody. Frances De La Tour (The Cherry Orchard, Strike it Rich) plays the Headmistress of Beauxbatons Academy of Magic, Madame Maxime; Roger Lloyd-Pack (Vanity Fair, BBC TV’s Only Fools and Horses) plays the Head of the Department of International Magical Cooperation, Barty Crouch; Pedja Bjelac (Eurotrip) plays Durmstrang Professor Igor Karkaroff; Jeff Rawle (Inspector Calls II, Baal, TV’s Drop the Dead Donkey) plays Amos Diggory; and David Tennant (Bright Young Things) plays Barty Crouch Jr.

New additions to the young cast include Robert Pattinson (The Ring) as Cedric Diggory; Stanislav Ianevski as Quidditch star Viktor Krum; Clemence Poesy (Bienvenue chez les Rozes, Petite Soeur) as Fleur Delacour; and Katie Leung as Cho Chang.

Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson and Tom Felton once again reprise the roles of Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger and their archrival Draco Malfoy, respectively. In the roles of fellow Hogwarts students are Matthew Lewis as Neville; Devon Murray as Seamus; Jamie Waylett as Crabbe; Joshua Herdman as Goyle; Alfie Enoch as Dean; Oliver and James Phelps as Fred and George Weasley; and Chris Rankin as Percy.

Returning to the adult ensemble are Robbie Coltrane as Hagrid; Michael Gambon as Headmaster Albus Dumbledore; Robert Hardy as Minister for Magic Cornelius Fudge; Shirley Henderson as Moaning Myrtle; Jason Isaacs as Lucius Malfoy; Gary Oldman as Sirius Black; Alan Rickman as Professor Snape; Maggie Smith as Professor McGonagall; Timothy Spall as Peter Pettigrew; and Mark Williams as Arthur Weasley.

"Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" will be released in November 2005 by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.

Dan Sends Thanks for Birthday Greetings

Warner Bros has asked us to pass on a message from Dan to his fans in response to the huge amount of presents and cards he received for his birthday.

He has been overwhelmed by the generosity of his fans and is deeply grateful and flattered to have received so many gifts, but because of the massive volume, it is taking longer than he had hoped to respond to each gift that was sent in. Dan Says a BIG Thank You!

Today we were thrilled to receive a very special "thank you" from Dan for his birthday present from DanRadcliffe.com! Since early this year, thousands of DR.com readers from all over the world have been contributing material to a series of fan projects and DR.com webmaster Jenna has been very busy turning it all into Dan's birthday present: ACED Magazine. The very first printed copy of the magazine was sent to Dan last week in time for his 15th birthday on July 23rd. This is what Dan had to say:

Dear Jenna

Well, you've done it again - left me speechless with ACED. It is a fantastic magazine and I was completely knocked out by it and the time and effort you have put into it. I love all the reviews and the photos are excellent. By happy coincidence I had just bought the Modest Mouse album which I think is fantastic! I was also stunned to see the fan demographic and as always find it a little difficult to take in the spread of fans around the world when I am working at Leavesden. ACED is a beautifully constructed and imaginative magazine and everyone I have shown it to loves it. It made my 15th birthday very special and I can't wait for the next issue at Christmas. Thank you.

Thank you also, to everyone who contributed to Demelza House. This place is SO important to me and everyone who contributed makes a real difference to the lives of the children and their families who stay there. Thank you from the bottom of my heart .

My birthday was spent on set with my friends. This is the third birthday I have had at Leavesden and they are always fun filled days. A friend on set gave me a large water pistol and as it was a sunny day - chaos reigned at lunch time as I was responsible for soaking the stunt department and then ran for my life as you really don't want to mess with them - I am sure they will get their own back.

Once again Jenna, thank you - you are amazing!

Jenna describes ACED thusly: "ACED Magazine is a new entertainment and lifestyle publication aimed primarily at readers in their teens and twenties but with appeal for people of all ages. This semi-annual magazine will feature celebrity and band interviews, reviews of albums, concerts, books, and movies and will have many other special features with direct participation from the readers and visitors from both ACED and DanRadcliffe.com.

The main inspiration for this magazine is Dan. Even the title of the magazine, "ACED", was entirely inspired by the card trick he did for me when I last visited him on the HP set! We decided to write about some of the things we knew he liked, because we knew a lot of his fans, our potential readers, would be interested in reading about them too, and we also wanted to print things that we thought would be of interest to him. Who better to write for the “typical teenager” than teenagers?"

Thank you very much to all those fans who contributed to the fan projects and helped make this magazine possible! We'll be opening up more fan projects later this year for the next issue - look out for announcements here at DanRadcliffe.com. Fans from all across the Internet also made contributions to Dan's favorite charity, Demelza House Children's Hospice in Kent, England, instead of sending him birthday presents.
