Planned for the 23rd of June 2004, the release of “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” in theatres is well-awaited by millions of eager fans around the world. In exclusivity, we have received the first pictures from the shooting but also a top-secret folder revealing a bunch of surprises and rebounds that this movie has in pocket for us…

The Story

The third installment of the adventures of Harry Potter will present us Sirius Black (Gary Oldman), a dangerous criminal who has escaped from Azkaban in hope of finding Harry. But why? That’s what our protagonist will try to uncover with the help of his two mates. And as his investigation carries on, Harry will learn a great deal of things about his family, especially pertaining to his parents’ death…

Those who are Missing and the Newcomers

A few secondary roles will not be part of the production of the new movie this time such as Nearly-Headless Nick and Oliver Wood. New characters will make their way in such as professor Remus Lupin (David Thewlis), who teaches Defense Against the Dark Arts, and also Sybill Trelawney (Emma Chambers) who will be of the game to teach the young pupils the wonders of Divination. We could also mention Madam Rosmerta (Julie Christie), a waitress at The Three Broomsticks and Peter Pettigrew (Timothy Spall) an old friend of James Potter, daddy of the hero. Finally, Harry’s family grows bigger with the visit of Aunt Marge (Pam Ferris, horrible principal in “Mathilda”), who’s sister to Uncle Vernon.

Monster and Magic

About the magical creatures that roam the Wizarding World, J.K. Rowling’s imagination has once again been on full power. We’re going to meet Animagus which are wizards with the capability to take an animal’s shape; Dementors, Azkaban guards, who feed themselves off of people’s happiness and who also come to protect Hogwarts, and Hippogriffs, strange animals with legs and tail of a horse but with an eagle’s head and beak.

Tidbits about the shooting

The shooting of “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban”, whose budget is around 110 million dollars, started in February 2003 and is still in production in England as of now. Bad prank for the team, the Hogwarts Express has been vandalized. The guilty ones have painted two whole wagons and signed it “Slobs”. The cost of the damage is high but fans of Harry Potter and company are not to worry! They will come back to find the magic train in its original state.

When Warner Bros announced its cinematographic adaptation of the Harry Potter phenomenon, the whole world was waiting eagerly to see who would be the young boy who would play the world famous wizard.
