DanRadcliffe.com's Radnet Rules:

Parents note: this is a W(eb)S(ite)-13 Forum. Anyone younger than that should take caution when entering into a topic without a parental presence. It is important for all RadNet members to follow the rules in order to ensure a safe, fun, and respectful online community. Please show respect for Daniel Radcliffe and any other actors, musicians, members, etc. This means :

1. Don’t post anything personal about Daniel or anyone else, including yourself. This is for your safety, as well as the safety of others. This includes:

Personal email addresses
Phone numbers
Home addresses
School names
Personal information about family members or friends (including photos)
Discussion of Daniel’s romantic involvements, ie. girlfriend topics

2. Don’t post rumours of any kind regarding Daniel - if it isn't posted on DR.com it isn't going to be allowed on the forum either. This includes buzzing about romantic relationships between Harry Potter cast members (especially rumours involving Daniel and Emma - they AREN'T true!), suspect film/TV roles, etc.

3. Daniel Radcliffe and other celebrity imposters are NOT welcome. He does not post on the forum. This results in an automatic, permanent BAN from the forum. No exceptions.

4. Don’t bash or post anything rude or degrading to or about anyone. This goes back to the old saying, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

5. Don’t post malicious or insulting gossip about anyone. This ties into rule #2, only this rule encompasses ALL actors, musicians, etc.

6. No links should be posted in the forum that lead to innappropriate content, media or graphics. [ie. sexually explicit, vulgar, rude, or graphic]

7. Don’t post photos taken by the paparazzi or articles released without the WB or Dan’s approval. We do not approve of photographers or journalists who invade Dan’s privacy and take pictures or write articles about him without his permission.

8. Do not post pictures or materials coming from pirated versions of any film. This includes links to pirated images - they will not be allowed. Any posts that announce they have in their possession a pirated DVD will also be deleted. We do not allow posts that support illegal behavior!!!

9. Do not hint or claim that you are going to be playing any Harry Potter character in a future movie. It’s not that we don’t believe you. It’s just that we have no way to verify your claims and it would be offensive to the Harry Potter cast and crew to visit here and find false information posted.

10. No posts will be permitted on the forum that claim the person has or does chat with Dan, know his e-mail address or other net ID. He does not chat online with fans - EVER. Beyond that, it is still considered personal information on his part so it also falls under rule number 1 - no posting personal information! Also, keep in mind Dan does not participate in any of the following online communities: Radnet, MySpace, Xanga, Live Journal, chat rooms, other forums, Instant Messaging, emails, etc.

11. Show respect for your fellow Radnet members. This means :

# Do not use profanity. Exception - you can mask a word by using all **** for example, but not by replacing only one letter as in b*gger. All letters must be masked!!!
# Signatures should not be too long or too wide. It makes it very difficult for those with dial-up to download the pages in the forum. Mod Elena has an example signature - yours should not be bigger than hers.
# Constructive and intelligent debate of a friendly nature IS permitted on the forum, as long as it remains respectful of others' opinions. The moment someone attacks another on a personal level that becomes unacceptable and the post will be removed and the user warned.
# Do not bash, insult, or attack any of your fellow Radnet members (especially the moderators!)
# Do not use avatars or signature pictures containing nudity, sexual acts or profanity.
# Do not post any topic that may be considered rude or obscene.

12. Please post topics in the appropriate forum. If topics are made in the wrong forum, ie. A website is advertised in JDM - that will be moved to Web Connection with NO ties to JDM. You will be notified if you are the one who created it so you know it wasn't deleted, why it was moved, and where it was moved to.

13. Fan Fiction of a suggestive nature, as well as icons that portray fictitious situations, are not allowed on this forum. This includes, but is not limited to, slash, pornographic or sexual insinuations of either gender preference, and fan/Dan or other cast member icons. (In other words - no cutting and pasting heads on other bodies to create "ships" or fake photos with cast members as this causes a lot of issues and confusion among members).

Misc.

- Questions about the rules and how to use features of Radnet should be posted in the Feedback and Concerns forum.
- New members should introduce themselves in the Newbies forum.
- If you just want to chat with someone, please use the Personal Messenger or the Chat forum. Please don’t fill up three pages in Just Dan Man with a personal discussion.

*** Users who violate these rules may be warned or banned at the discretion of the administrators. Radnet members who accumulate 3 warning markers will be banned, serious rule violations may result in immediate removal without warning in some circumstances.

Frequently Asked Questions at Radnet

How do I change my avatar?

Go to 'Your Control Panel' located above the forums. Click on 'Personal Info' then 'Avatar Options'. You will be able to select and set your avatar there.

Can I use my own avatar?

Yes, you can. Simply enter the url (address) of the picture you want to use as your avatar in the field found below. Remember that only .gif, .jpg., .jpeg, and . swf files may be used. You can set the size of your avatar but the maximum is 100x100 pixels.

Why isn't my avatar working?

Make sure you entered the correct address. Wrong url's result in a box with a red X. Also make sure that it's an accepted file type. If you put in a file from your computer it will not work.

Why can't I have a long signature like before?

There used to be no exact limit to the length of signatures before and so the feature was abused. We had sigs with tons of images that caused too much inconvenience for most users. Now you are only allowed 600 characters in your sig. You can still use pictures but very few. Please limit your total signature size to a height of about 4 inches, a width of about 6 inches and a total file size of 200 KB.

How do I add images to my signature/post?

Use the ikonboard code [img]-url of image

How can I become a moderator?

Right now, we do not need any more moderators. When new moderators are needed, we usually ask the current moderators to nominate mature courteous helpful members who have been at Radnet for at least a year. So the best way to get selected is by being on your best behavior whenever you visit the forum.

What are member titles?

They're those italicized words like "Spankin' Beater" found between your member name and your avatar. The names change as your posts increase. The equivalents are as follows:

Spankin' Beater = 0-50 posts
Blazin' Chaser = 100 posts
Kickin' Keeper = 200 posts
Soarin' Seeker = 400 posts
Quidditch Superstar = 700 posts
Quidditch Hall of Fame = 1500 posts

You can change your own member title if you wish by editing your profile.

What happened to my post? It disappeared!

Read the rules. If your posts' content violates any of them, it was probably deleted without warning. Or you should know whether you put it in the wrong forum. A mod or admin probably moved it to the appropriate place. Otherwise, the boards might be experiencing some technical problems and several posts were affected.

I saw a post that violates the rules, what do I do?

Report it immediately to the mods and/or admins. There's no need to scold that person as fights may break out. Email us, PM us, post it in FB & Concerns or simply click on the Report this post to a Moderator link.

Why do I keep getting 'Reply to Topic Notification' emails? Make it stop!

You get those because you checked the 'Do you wish to track this topic?' box below your reply. Uncheck it to make it stop.

I don't remember my password, what do I do?

First use the lost password feature found upon log in. Sometimes that has glitches, so if your attempts fail, contact Marigold and she will assign you a new password and email it to you. Once you log in with this, change your password immediately.

Do you have Dan's email? Can I have it?

We don't. Sorry. Even if we did, we have the decency not to go giving it away. We all respect his privacy.

How do I send fan mail to Dan, Rupert or Emma?

You can send fan mail to the Harry Potter stars at the following addresses:

Rupert Grint

Does Dan visit this board?

We do know some people close to him actually do - but they do not post on the forum - ever!! So keep that in mind when posting. Sometimes he gets questions from our forum to answer in the newsletters he sends out to fans.

How old are the people that go to the board?

We have a wide range of ages, from 11 to 50+.

How do I pin a topic?

Sorry, but that is only allowed if you are a Mod. or an Administrator.

Are there any topics here at Radnet which may be unsuitable for young children to read?

As on any message board, there is always the possibility of coming across an offensive post which hasn’t yet been caught by our moderating team. We make every effort to remove rude or obscene posts as quickly as possible.

We do allow limited discussion of certain adult topics which may be too mature for young readers. These may include topics on sex, drug and alcohol abuse, suicide, abortion, racism, religion and homosexuality. Of course, we do everything we can to discourage irresponsible behavior but some visitors may disagree with the opinions expressed.

If you have any more questions or don't understand something on here, feel free to contact Marigold or post a question in the Feedback and Concerns topic.
