For more answers from Dan himself, you can also check out this interview, which included questions from readers of our site: ASK DAN: 100 Questions From The Fans

For answers to questions about Dan and his current tastes and interests, please check out our Quick Facts  and Biography pages.  [return to top]

What is Dan's home address?
What is his phone number?

Sorry, but we can't tell you!  We do not pass out this kind of personal information.  The only information that is publicly available is that he lives in the Fulham area of London, England.

Where does he go to school?

Dan took his AS Level exams in summer 2006 and then decided to take a year off from schooling in 2006-2007 due to his many film and stage commitments.  He has since decided that he will not return to school to finish his A Levels and will continue to pursue his acting career.  [return to top]

How can I get in touch with Dan?
Does he answer fan mail?
How long does it take to get a reply?

Please note that you CANNOT contact Daniel Radcliffe through this website!!! The email addresses for this website go to the webmasters, NOT to Dan. We regret that we cannot pass on messages to Dan on your behalf.

The official way to get in touch with Dan is to send him a letter at one of the addresses listed on our Mailing Address page.  Dan does read all his fan mail and tries to answer as many letters as he can but please bear in mind that he has a very busy schedule, between filming and tuition, and it has become increasingly difficult to send a personal reply.  Usually, fans receive a photo of Dan (with a preprinted signature) and his latest newsletter by way of a reply, which may take 2-3 months to arrive.  [return to top]

Where can I send Dan a gift?

While that's a very sweet idea, Dan has respectfully requested that fans do not send him gifts any more and he encourages them to make a donation to his favorite charity, Demelza House Children's Hospice, instead.  (Please read his comments about this in an excerpt from his June 2006 newsletter.)  Here is a link to Demelza House's online donations page.  If you make a donation through this page, please make sure to select "Daniel Radcliffe" in the "Source" field on the page so that donations in Dan's name can be tracked.  [return to top]

How can I meet Dan?

Unfortunately, the number of opportunities to meet Dan or other members of the HP cast are very few and far between due to the usual reasons: filming and schoolwork commitments. It is possible (though difficult) to meet cast members at the film premieres, if you are prepared to travel that far, or you might be able to get audience tickets when they do interviews on TV or radio shows. The best way might be to look out for competitions in magazines or on TV or online to win a visit to the Harry Potter set and meet the cast there. If we hear about any such contests, we will report them on our Site Updates page. [return to top]

I want to interview Dan for my website/publication...

Dan truly appreciates the support continually given to him by his fans, but is so busy balancing filming with schoolwork that there just isn't time for individual interviews. The few interviews Warner Bros is able to schedule are intended to reach the widest audience possible and so hopefully will also prove the most accessible way for his fans to read about his time on set and interests in general. [return to top]

Does Dan have a girlfriend?
Is he dating Emma Watson?

Dan has repeatedly stated that he and Emma are just good friends and are not dating.  As for his current girlfriend situation, that's personal information again and we won't be discussing it on this site - sorry!  [return to top]

What films has Dan been in?

For information about Dan's past, present and future projects, please check our Filmography page.  [return to top]

What is he working on next?

Dan is currently working on a TV film My Boy Jack for ITV in the UK, which is expected to air later this year.  Then he will start filming the sixth Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, which will take up much of the next year.

December Boys, an independent Australian film which Dan completed in December 2005, is scheduled for release in September 2007.

For full details of Dan's past, present and future projects, please check our Filmography page.   [return to top]

How much does he earn per film?

As for what he earns per film, there has been a lot of speculation recently about how much Dan makes and the estimates get wilder with each new report so don't believe everything you read in the press.  Quite frankly, it's none of our business so sorry, we won't be discussing it here!  [return to top]

How many Harry Potter films will Dan make?

It was recently announced that Dan has signed on for the final two Harry Potter films.  Later this year, production will commence on the sixth Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, which is slated for release in November 2008.  The final film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, is expected to be released some time in 2010.[return to top]

Isn't Dan getting too old to play Harry Potter?

Uh... no!!!  Contrary to the incessant media speculation, Dan is still very close in age to Harry.  When filming starts on Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, Dan will have just turned 18, two years older than his screen character (Harry would have just turned 16).  As far as we're concerned, he still looks and acts the part and that's all that matters!  [return to top]

Can I be in a Harry Potter film?

As a general rule, you have to be a British resident to be considered for a role in a Harry Potter film (there are various legal and practical reasons for only employing actors and extras from the UK). The best places to look for announcements about casting calls are sites like CBBC Newsround or any of the larger Harry Potter fan sites like The Leaky Cauldron or MuggleNet. Also, in the past, there have been competitions to win a walk-on role in the film or internship with the production team. If we hear any news about any competitions of this nature, we will post about it on our Site Updates page.   [return to top]

When is the next Harry Potter/other film premiere?

Premieres for December Boys will take place in Australia, on September 9th in Melbourne (Rivoli Cinemas, Camberwell) and on September 11th in Sydney (more details to follow).

Locations and times for the premieres of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince are not yet available (and generally are not announced until about two months before the event) but if previous years are anything to go by, full cast premieres will most likely take place in London, England, and Los Angeles, USA, one or two weeks before the official release, which will be in November 2008. When we have any more news about the dates, we will post it on our news page and Event Calendar[return to top]

Can I go to a Harry Potter/other film premiere?

Attendance at a film premiere is by invitation only - tickets are not made available to the general public.  However, if you're feeling really dedicated, you can wait outside the theatre and watch the stars of the film arrive on the red carpet!  Also, in the past, there have been competitions to win tickets to the premieres. If we hear any news about any competitions of this nature, we will post about it on our Site Updates page.  [return to top]

Will Dan be going to the premiere?

At this time, we understand that Dan is expected to attend the Melbourne and Sydney premieres of December Boys in Australia.

Based on previous years, we expect that Dan would attend the Harry Potter premieres in London and Los Angeles at least, but at this point, it is way too early to say.  When we have any more news about the premieres, we will post it on our news page and Event Calendar[return to top]

Will Dan be visiting my city/country any time soon?

The demands of the filming schedule mean that Dan doesn't have a lot of time to make promotional appearances, especially outside the UK.  If he is scheduled to make a public appearance, it will be reported on our news page and Event Calendar[return to top]

When will Dan be on TV next?

We keep a list of all of Dan's forthcoming TV appearances that we know of on our Event Calendar, which includes both interviews and movie listings.  However, please note that we rely on tips from our readers when updating this page, so if you find out about a TV appearance in your area, please send us the information[return to top]

What awards has Dan won?

For a list all Dan's awards and poll placings that we know about, please see the Awards page.  [return to top]

Does Dan ever visit web sites about himself?

Dan claims that he does not read anything about himself in the press or on the Internet so, in general, the answer would be "no".  However, as far as this site is concerned - yes, he does know where we are, he has visited the site in the past and he has even been very complimentary about us (thank you Dan!).  But please don't leave a message for him in our comments system or on our message boards thinking he'll read it because he will probably not see it - if you have a message for Dan, please write to him[return to top]

Does Dan have an official web site?

No, Dan currently does not have an official site.  However, you will find everything you need to know about his career right here at DanRadcliffe.com!  We work closely with Warner Bros representatives to bring you the latest news and pictures of Dan and occasionally we are fortunate enough to be invited to work with Dan and his family on special projects (like the Ask Dan Q&A and Demelza House appeal) or asked to post messages to his fans on his behalf.  [return to top]

Does Dan have an official fan club?

No, Dan currently does not have an official fan club.  However, you are welcome to write to him!.  [return to top]

What is Dan's email address?
Does he ever chat with fans online?
Does he ever email fans?
Does Dan have an account on MySpace/Friendster/Xanga... etc etc?

Sorry but the email address is personal information and we wouldn't pass it out even if we knew it.  Dan has repeatedly stated that he does NOT email or chat with fans in chatrooms or forums online - in fact, he cannot state this strongly enough (click here to see for yourself in his own words!).  The same goes for networking sites like MySpace- Dan does not have an account on any of them.  If you have been emailing or chatting with someone who claims to be Dan, please understand that you are dealing with an imposter.  Unfortunately, there are a lot of people in the world who think it's fun to impersonate celebrities - please be very wary when talking to strangers on the Internet.  [return to top]

I found this really cool picture of Dan... why don't you have it on your site?

If there is a genuine picture of Dan out there that we don't have (hey, we have thousands of pictures and screen captures in our galleries - it's hard to remember them all!),  we'd be delighted if you could send it to us and we will post it as soon as we can.  Thanks!  However, please note that there are some types of picture that we do not wish to include in our galleries:

  1. Paparazzi photos.  These are considered an invasion of Dan's privacy.
  2. "Fake" photos.  There are a lot of really good fakes out there, many created by other fan sites, that take Dan's head and paste it on someone else's body (e.g. Elijah Wood or Jimmy Fallon) to create a composite image but they cause way too much confusion and have no place in our galleries.
  3. "Lookalike" photos.  There is an extremely notorious "shirtless" lookalike doing the rounds on the other fan sites (you know the one we mean...) who causes a LOT of confusion but that's all he is - a lookalike.  By the way, if we find this chap in your avatar or signature on the RadNet Forums, you will be asked to remove the picture or it will be removed for you - you have been warned!!!  [return to top]

I bought a signed photo of Dan online - is it genuine?

There may be a few genuine articles out there but unfortunately there are a lot more frauds, especially if you buy from an online auction site.  Dan has a very distinctive signature - you can view samples of it in our Autographs gallery.  If the signature doesn't resemble any of those, then we're afraid you may have been conned (even if the vendor offers a "certificate of authenticity" or COA).  Dan does not sell autographs but occasionally, something that he signs will fall into the hands of a professional autograph dealer, who will then be only too happy to take your money.  Buyer beware!  [return to top]

Is there any official Daniel Radcliffe merchandise?

Only what's part of the official Harry Potter movie merchandise range.  Dan doesn't have his "own line"!  However, recently there has been a rash of keychains, coasters, t-shirts, luggage tags etc cropping up on online auction sites, sold by some very creative and opportunistic vendors.  Please note that these items are entirely unofficial, unauthorized and in no way endorsed so there is no guarantee of their quality and you are advised to think very carefully before parting with your money!  [return to top]

Is there any truth in the rumor...?

Probably not.  That's why it's a rumor. :-)  [return to top]

Is there any truth in this news report...?

Before you go believing everything you read in print or online, we'd strongly advise you to consider the source. If the report comes from a reputable media source (e.g., BBC, CNN, Reuters), then it is probably true. If it comes from a tabloid or gossip magazine or site, take it with a pinch of salt. But beware, there are some practical jokers online who think it's funny to write fake interviews and news articles about Dan and disguise them to make them look as though they come from a reputable source (they actually copy the style of pages from sites like the BBC or CNN). If you see a suspicious-looking article online, first check the address of the web page to see if it looks like an official news site address or if it's just someone's personal home page. Second, look for spelling mistakes and inconsistencies. If you see something suspicious, you are welcome to check with us but please don't post about it on a message board or email it to your friends because this is how rumors spread and the people who write these articles do not deserve any extra publicity!  [return to top]
