Demelza House 6th Birthday :: Balloons, Donations, Prizes

DanRadcliffe.com is sponsoring a prize drawing and fundraiser for Demelza House Children Hospice's 6th Birthday starting today, ending 24 September 2004.

About Demelza House

This is Dan Radcliffe's charity of choice. He fully supports this wonderful establishment, and has repeatedly asked fans to donate to them in lieu of sending him presents for his birthday or for Christmas. Children and families come to Demelza House for (respite) short-term care, symptom control and palliative care and bereavement support.  Each stay typically lasts a few days.  Families can choose to either leave the child in the hospice's care while they take a much-needed break or remain with the child at the hospice and spend a little "quality time", while the hospice staff take on some or all of the caring role.  The hospice treats each stay by a child as a "mini-holiday", organizing activities, outings and themed events in a bright and happy environment.  Demelza House also offers support groups for the siblings, parents and grandparents of a severely ill child, to help them explore their feelings and share experiences and, if necessary, to cope with the loss of a family member.

Donations and Questions and Prizes : What is This About ?

Demelza House will be holding its 6th birthday celebration for the children in September. We are asking people to sponsor a birthday balloon in Daniel's name for £5.00 each ($9.14 in USD), and all biodegradable balloons will be released on 25th September. Of course, with every increment of £5.00 an additional balloon will be added in his name.

If you would like to donate a birthday balloon for this very worthy organisation, either Online or Offline, please make sure to write c/o Daniel Radcliffe, Balloon Donation, followed by your address, in the field marked "postal address". This will help us to keep track of all the donations made in Dan's name.
