July 2007 18th Birthday Thank You

Daniel Radcliffe fans raised 1,679.46 pounds sterling for his birthday via DanRadcliffe.com. Daniel said:

"Thank you for all the messages in the comments section which I really enjoyed reading - something I never do - but hey once a year can't hurt!!

A huge thank you for the amazing poster which I received last week to mark my eighteenth birthday. I will treasure it forever as it marks a very important milestone in my life.

Thank you, also, for putting together a fund-raiser for Demelza House - you are all so kind and generous and it makes a huge difference to this extraordinary place....

"On Saturday I received from Demelza House this year's Candle for Care Booklet with many messages from my fans who had generously donated to this year's campaign. 17th Birthday, Letter from Daniel

"Dear Jenna,

Once again, I am simply AMAZED at ACED Magazine. Truly wonderful! Thank you to everyone who contributed to it and thank you for all your kind messages celebrating my birthday - I was very touched.

Some of those driving stories are absolutely hilarious - and terrifying! I loved the Screen Comic images - very funny! I had a ball reading this magazine - great articles, funny stories and terrific reviews. What an achievement!

Most important, however, is the fact that so many people contributed to Demelza House and did not send me presents. I cannot thank you enough for this as it makes a huge difference to the hospice. Thank you.

"As many of you know, my birthday wish as indicated on the danradcliffe.com and danradcliffe.co.uk websites is that instead of fans sending me a gift (which I do appreciate) they may like to make a donation to Demelza House, the children's hospice I have supported for several years. It really does make a difference to this special place. I am aware that some people like to do both - please don't - it makes me feel bad that you are spending money on me when it could be going to a much worthier place - or treat yourself! It is also impossible for me to acknowledge individual gifts now, due to the sheer volume of fanmail. I do hope you understand."

November 2005 Appeal

"As GOBLET OF FIRE has now opened, I want to thank everyone for the support I have been shown at the premieres in London, Paris and New York. It really meant a lot to me and the enthusiasm in each country was staggering!

I know as Chrismas approaches, many of you are keen to send gifts, which I really appreciate. This year, however, I want to urge you more than ever, to consider making a donation to Demelza House Children's Hospice or indeed, any charity of your choice, instead. As I am not in the UK for several months, due to other commitments, I will be unable to reply personally to any gifts that I may receive.

I hope wherever you are in the world you have a wonderful Festive season and a fantastic 2006.

December 2004 Appeal

"As we approach Christmas, I would like to make an appeal, that this year again, instead of sending presents to me, may I suggest you make a donation to Demelza House, the Children’s Hospice I support. Last year’s appeal was extremely successful and, while I love receiving gifts from all over the world, I am afraid I no longer have enough space in my house to store the wonderful presents I have been sent over the years. A donation - however small - makes a huge difference to the children of Demelza House.

I hope wherever you are in the world you have a happy, fun and above all peaceful Christmas and New Year.

December 2003 Appeal

"In the past my fans have been truly generous in sending me fantastic presents especially for my birthday and at Christmas. I truly appreciate these and feel very fortunate to have such loyal fans. I would like to ask that instead of sending me a gift that they make a donation to DEMELZA HOUSE, a fantastic children's hospice outside London that I support, which does amazing work for terminally ill children and their families. The focus of the hospice is in their words about, "Adding life to days when days cannot be added to life".
