Video: Daniel Radcliffe appears on BBC’s The One Show
Wrapping up promotion for What If, Dan appeared on The One Show last night alongside hosts Matt Baker and Alex Jones.
With the newly-crowned England Women’s Rugby team also in the studio, fresh from a World Cup final win over Canada, Dan mentioned a love of American football in comparison, especially towards his team the New York Giants.
As the past month commemorates the 100th anniversary of World War I, Dan also talks about the experience of filming My Boy Jack, where four of the crew were hospitalized with hypothermia after many days of filming scenes within the rain-soaked trenches. And in addition, the sheer weight of the costumes because of this. Dan says:
“I was given the standard issue rifle, which I could barely handle – it’s really quite hefty. My character actually ends up going over the top, in to No Man’s Land, with a revolver which has six shots in it because I couldn’t manage it.”
His appearance as Spider-man for Comic Con is also featured, as well as his wishes for better male characters in rom-coms, crediting What If with stronger scripting for the male leads.
