Dan promotes What If in Mexico; interviews with Jimmy Kimmel, Out, the Republic, & New York Post
Dan is now well into his promotional tour for What If, and interviews and articles are starting to show up all over the place.
First up was an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel, in which Dan talked about the film, dressing up as Spider-Man for Comic-Con, and then went on to give someone a rather dubious looking haircut (stick to acting, Dan). You can see clips from the show below.
Dan then headed off to Mexico (head over to our gallery for pictures from his photo call), for what was supposed to be the red carpet premiere of What If (Solo Amigos!), but things didn’t go quite according to plan – the red carpet was cancelled due to concerns about overcrowding. Dan took to his Google + to apologise to the fans waiting to see him, and also posted a video of the crowd waiting for him outside his hotel.
Despite the red carpet cancellation, Dan did head into the screening to introduce the film.
Dan spent part of today filming El HormigueroMX (you may remember his 2012 appearance on sister show El Hormiguero, in which he walked on cornflour!). We’ll let you know when video is available.
A few print interviews have also started appearing online. Dan spoke to Variety, Out, The New York Post, and The Republic to promote the film, touching on subjects from wanting to direct, to off-screening bonding with co-star Zoe Kazan, to being a better dancer than his character Wallace.
Dan has several TV interviews lined up for next week – set your DVRs for the following dates:
- 4th August: The Today Show; Live with Kelly and Michael
- 5th August: Late Night With Seth Meyers
- 7th August: Watch What Happens Live
- 8th August: The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson
Dan has also filmed an appearance for The Talk, but there is no information on its broadcast date as of yet.
What If opens in NY and LA on 8th August before expanding across the US; it will play UK cinemas from 20th August.
