Harry Potter Exhibition to Open in Chicago
Good news for Harry Potter fans who live in the Chicago area or are planning a trip to the Windy City sometime next year: We have just been informed that Harry Potter: The Exhibition will open its doors at the Museum of Science and Industry on April 30, 2009 and will run through September 7, 2009. This very magical 10,000 square foot exhibit will give visitors the opportunity to see authentic costumes and props from the films, displayed in settings inspired by the Hogwarts film sets, including the Great Hall and the Gryffindor Boys’ Dormitory. See the promotional poster here.
Tickets are now available for purchase at the Museum of Science and Industry or online by clicking here. Combination admission into the Museum and Harry Potter: The Exhibition during museum hours is $26 for adults, $25 for seniors and $19 for children ages 3-11. After the Museum closes, evening hour tickets are $18 for adults and seniors and $15 for children ages 3-11.
After its run in Chicago, the exhibition will be displayed in other major cultural and entertainment venues, museums and institutions in the US and internationally and will be updated to include artifacts and costumes from the final installments of the Harry Potter film series once the production of these films has been completed.
Many thanks to Erin for the heads-up!
