Clémence Poésy Impressed by Daniel

Posted by coralie on 29/03/08

Actress Clémence Poésy, who played the part of Fleur Delacour in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and is currently promoting her new movie In Bruges, was recently interviewed by the Evening Standard and had this to say about playing in a Harry Potter movie alongside Daniel Radcliffe

"We got on very well. Most of my scenes were with Daniel and I’m very impressed by him. I think he’s going to have a beautiful career and that he’s handling everything in a very smart way. His feet are very firmly on the ground and his eyes are wide open to what is going on in the world and in the arts. I thought that was very precious because he could have gone to a very different place."

Many thanks to our super sleuth Lauren for digging up this lovely tidbit of information for us! amuse.gif

*Updated* New Interview with Daniel in Wikén Magazine

Posted by coralie on 23/03/08

There is a new interview with Dan in a Chilean magazine called Wikén in which he discusses Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Harry’s budding romance with Ginny Weasley

"It’s a complex story, it isn’t a simple romance because Harry is such a close friend of Ron’s, and Ginny is his sister, and Harry feels as if he’s walking on eggshells."

Thanks to Lauren and Jeannine for the tip!

*Update* Many thanks to Daniela for providing us with a translation of the complete article. You can read it by clicking on the full story link below. Enjoy!

Dan Quotes in Boston Globe

Posted by coralie on 20/03/08

There is a brief article/interview in the Boston Globe (scroll down the page a bit) in which Dan shares some thoughts on Harry Potter, the war in Afghanistan and ‘wizard’ musical groups. You can read the article by clicking on the above link or on the full story link below.

And yes, the Equus Broadway dates in the article are wrong: the play is scheduled to open in September 2008, not June. amuse.gif

Dan Faces Ferocious Greyback

Posted by coralie on 16/03/08

Fighter turned actor Dave Legeno, who will be playing the role of werewolf Fenrir Greyback in the much anticipated screen version of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, had this to say with regards to one of his upcoming scenes with Dan

"Daniel will be taking his own 17 stone monster in this film – me."

Legeno then added

"He (Dan) is a lovely guy but let’s just say he will have his hands full when I get hold of him."

I don’t know about you, but this description kind of reminds me a bit of what happened to Dan at the Theatregoer’s Choice Awards! toung.gif

Or you can watch it on YouTube.

Also addressing the news, more quotes from Daniel at TV Guide News.

“The challenge now is for them to find out where the breaking point is between the two films,” says Radcliffe, “because I don’t think there is an obvious place [to do so].”

*Updated* Dan Agrees Deathly Hallows Should be Two Part Movie

Posted by coralie on 13/03/08

According to this article in the Los Angeles Times, it is now confirmed that the much anticipated screen adaptation of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will be split in two, with the first part scheduled for release in theatres in November 2010, and the second in May 2011. The Times also confirmed that David Yates will return to direct both parts, which will be filmed at the same time. The idea certainly seems to appeal to Dan, who had this to say on the subject

"I think it’s the only way you can do it without cutting out a huge portion of the book. There have been compartmentalized subplots in the other books that have made them easier to cut — although those cuts were still to the horror of some fans — but the seventh book doesn’t really have any subplots. It’s one driving, pounding story from the word go."

Thanks to Frenchi for the tip!
