Dan to Star in Equus? NOT.

Posted by jenna on 16/12/05

Many people have written in and sent scans about an article in the Daily Mail that stated Dan is in the early stages of discussions about starring in a powerful stage drama called “Equus.” Kenneth Branagh will direct the play in the West End in 13 months' time – around January 2007.

After speaking to Dan's publicist I can confirm this is merely a rumour – so NO. Keep in mind Dan will be filming Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in 2006. That will take him until the end of the year and then he will be concentrating on his A level exams which he sits in the summer of 2007. I am pretty sure that will keep him quite busy!

Sabine translated one new bit of information from the Cinema Magazine interview with Dan:

Q: Do you have time to do anything between filming and school?

Dan: Not much, but I try to have one free hour per day to read. Books are my passion, both classic literature and nonfiction. At the moment I am reading everything I can get hold of about Italy in the Middle Ages.

DR-TV: "This Way Up" To Air At Last

Posted by allo on 04/12/05

It looks as though Foley and McColl: This Way Up, the TV variety show for which Dan filmed a comedy sketch last spring, is finally going to get an airing. TheCustard.tv has announced that the half-hour television special will be shown at 11:30pm on BBC2 in the UK on Saturday December 17th and will also include guest appearances by Roger Moore, Dawn French, Jerry Hall, Simon Callow and Will Young. (The program is listed, but with less detail, on the BBC Press Office website (PDF format).)

And while we're on the subject of DR-TV, the Events Calendar has been updated again with more listings for the US – ABC Family Channel will be showing Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone on Saturday December 10th at 4:30pm and 8:00pm and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets on Sunday December 11th at 3:00pm and 7:00pm. Thank you to everyone who mailed that one in! – and for Norway, where Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone will be shown on ZTV on Tuesday December 6th at 9:30pm (thanks, Meriem!)

Child's Play

Posted by jenna on 02/12/05

HP Warcry, one of our sponsors for the Demelza House Fundraiser, has asked us to support a charity they are sponsoring this holiday season.

Child's Play is a charity that works with various hospitals on an international level, creating Amazon Wish Lists for each hospital's children's wing. Everything donated will be used for the sick children of these hospitals.

If you visit the Child's Play website you can choose to donate by selecting something from a hospital's wish list or you can choose to donate cash via PayPal (from one dollar to ?). Prisoner of Azkaban DVDs and games are among the items on the hospitals' wish lists for the children.

Child's Play has such sponsored organisers as Microsoft, Epic Games, and NYE (New York Entertainment) to name a few.

ACED Fan Project #1

Posted by ciaran on 01/12/05

As mentioned in our latest newsletter, you could be one of the first to participate in ACED Magazine's fan projects for the holiday season. All fans participating will have the chance to be included in the winter edition that will be sent to Dan!

Your first task: answer the following question that Dan himself wanted to ask all of the fans:

Why do YOU like Harry Potter? (Not Dan, just the character)

Send your answer to Elena. Keep the answer under seven sentences and no rx viagra ensure you include your first name and country. Good luck!
