This year we are doing three things for Dan's birthday - the Demelza Drive 2006, the birthday edition of ACED Magazine, and the Greatest Fans Idol. Each facet of this birthday conglomeration will have a little contest complete with prizing. Check each section to find out more about those! (Please remember to include your name and country with your submissions!)

Below you will find a brief description of the projects, as well as Dan's appeal for his birthday this year. There is something for everyone - so have fun with it!!!

Dan's 17th Birthday Appeal

"As my 17th birthday approaches (!), I would like to appeal to my wonderful fans and ask that instead of sending me presents, they might like to make a donation, however small, to Demelza House. It really makes a huge difference to this remarkable place which I have supported for several years and I am very touched that so many fans have already taken such an active interest by donating or fund raising. ACED Magazine Fan Projects

This year, since Dan is turning 17, I have decided to center our theme on "driving" since Dan will officially be able to drive. Please check out the fan projects below - anyone can enter from any country. There are no restrictions on participation, but please take note of the deadlines.

Bumper to Bumper: This fun project should invoke anyone's creativity. What's your assignment? Simple - create a bumper sticker slogan with or without an artistic design. All entries will be entered in a contest. The top ten will be selected by the staff and then the readers on DanRadcliffe.com will vote a final winner. The bumper sticker chosen will then be "put into production" and sent to Dan, as well as the fan that designed it. Send all submissions to Jenna. Deadline: 19th June.

Tag - you're it!: Got a license plate that is "unique" or Harry Potter related? Send us a photo and the reason why you "branded" your ride with this specialised tag. Send all submissions to Candie. Deadline: 30th June.

Funny Driving Stories: Ever do something really dumb when you were first learning how to drive ( I know I did)? Send us your story! The most outrageous and funny the better. Send all submissions to Dave. Deadline: 30th June.

What's in your Driveway: What kind of car are you driving? Would you recommend it to Dan for his first vehicle - why or why not? Why did you choose it? Send all submissions to Elena. Deadline: 30th June.

Demelza Drive 2006

This year we are running a special "Demelza Drive" in conjunction with the driving theme for ACED Magazine, in celebration for Dan's 17th birthday. We started our fund raising efforts back in April and now we are inviting fans to help us raise money for Demelza Children's Hospice. Our target for this summer's drive is £2,500. A sum like this will pay for a lucky child and their family to have a 2-day stay at Demelza Children's Hospice for respite care or 175 hours of at-home hospice care.

All readers that donate to this special fund raiser will be able to submit a 4-5 sentence birthday wish to Daniel, to be included in the exclusive "Demelza Drive 2006" section of ACED Magazine for his birthday. All you have to do is forward your World Pay receipt to Jenna to participate in this special ACED fan feature.

In addition, all those that DO send in a World Pay receipt will be entered into a prize drawing. A complete list of prizes will be posted during the coming weeks, which will include CDs, DVDs, and more. Updates with prizing information will be made on the main site. Greatest Fans Idol 2006

Are you Dan's greatest fan? Now's your chance to prove it in this year's Greatest Fans Idol 2006. Yes - it is based on the concept of popular shows like X-Factor, American Idol, etc. There are three categories to this fan project/contest: Video, Audio, and Photo.

Purpose: Anyone can send in an original/creative birthday greeting in ONE of the aforementioned categories. You can only send in ONE submission, in ONE of the categories. We will select the top ten entrants in EACH category for a final round to be voted on by the DanRadcliffe.com readers on the 23rd of July. The final winners will receive their very own "Oscar" trophy with a custom plate saying:

The voting will take place within the RadNet forum and will last for one day only. You cannot vote if you are not registered on the forum - it's easy and free!

Photos: Be creative - pictures say 1000 words. Tell Dan Happy Birthday without using any! Bake a cake, wear some frosting, create a banner or poster and hold it up, dress yourself in "Happy Birthday" confetti, party hats, or other birthday thought-provoking memorabilia! There are SO many ways to convery the birthday cheer. Only those that are original and creative will be chosen for this category! Photos may be e-mailed to either Jenna or Allo.
