WIB Toronto Premiere Teaser
| News - News |
I just got back to my hotel room after covering the Toronto premiere of The Woman in Black on behalf of DR.com, a very different experience from any of the premieres I have attended in the past. I also just found out that my 815AM flight tomorrow morning has been cancelled and I will now be flying home at 715AM... Which is OK I guess, considering I won't be able to SLEEP after seeing the movie anyway! Stay tuned for more on this in the next couple of days.
The Woman in Black Premiere
Last night saw the worldwide premiere of The Woman in Black at London's Royal Festival Hall, and Dan took to the red carpet where he spoke to the press and spent over an hour signing for fans who had waited in the drizzly, dreary conditions we've all come to expect from premieres involving a certain Mr. Radcliffe. Whilst the scale was far removed from previous premieres I've attended, the enthusiasm was certainly the same (just not quite as deafening), and Dan's progress along the fan barriers could be tracked by the waving of posters, the burst of camera flashes, and the slightly-hysterical screams. The weather didn't put a dampener on the event though, as Dan was his usual bright, engaging self. Looking very dapper and handsome in his double-breasted suit, he braved a barrage of cameras and press with typical aplomb. Unfortunately, DRC didn't get the opportunity to talk to Dan, as he was whisked past our section in a minute or so, and only had the time to speak to a couple of people, but we did get some photographs, which can be seen below (click on the thumbnails to open a high-res image). A number of videos of Dan at the event have shown up online; see the links below. DRC at The Woman in Black Premiere
Lauren and I were at this evening's premiere of Dan's new film The Woman in Black, and we're both shattered after a long, cold, drizzly day, so the full post will have to wait until tomorrow. In the meantime, have my favourite picture from the event, and check in over the next couple of days for more pictures and Lauren's review of the film. Dan on the Jonathan Ross Show
Dan appeared on this evening's episode of The Jonathan Ross Show, and spoke about The Woman in Black (the script for which was written by Jonathan's wife, Jane Goldman), his girlfriend, and the last day on the set of Harry Potter. He also had the chance to feed some penguins! Thanks to HPSupporters, you can watch the interview (in three parts), here, here and here. Thank you to Carole for the links. Dan, along with actress Holliday Grainger, announced the nominations for the 2012 BAFTA awards, which included four technical nominations for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (Production Design, Hair & Make Up, Sound, and Special Visual Effects). Dan also told BBC news that he will be at the awards, which take place in London on the 12th February. Video of Dan and his co-presenter announcing the nominations can be seen here. In addition, Dan spent the morning talking about the BAFTA nominations to various media outlets; links are provided below. Video: BAFTA | BBC | Absolute Radio | Knutsford Guardian | Telegraph | Daybreak (whole episode) Radio: BBC 5 Live (at around 1 hour and 40 minutes) Thank you to GRA's Annemarie, Carole and Nordic for some of the above links. Dan on Saturday Night Live
Well, that was completely worth waking up at 4:15am for. Last night, Dan made his first (and definitely not his last) appearance on Saturday Night Liveand despite some uneven sketches, he shone in every single one and displayed excellent comic timing. I'm not going to go into any details about the sketches, because it's much more fun watching them when you don't know what's coming, so I'll leave you with clickable thumbnails of the bumper photos of Dan, and links to the videos currently archived at NBC.com. For those of you experiencing the dreaded country block, I'll work on making video available to you asap. Monologue | Target Lady | Spin the Bottle | Exit Polling | Casey Anthony's dog | Harry Potter epilogue | The Jay Pharoah Show | 2112 For those of you who care about these things, Dan's episode of SNL was the second highest in ratings for this series (last week's episode had particularly strong viewing figures because it followed an American football game). I think Dan is pretty much guaranteed to host again.
