I Believe That Dan Has Always Loved The Simpsons?

In the Media - Online Articles

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Dan will be lending his voice to an episode of The Simpsons, due to air next autumn. Executive producer Al Jean tells EW the Harry Potter star plays Edmund, a kid vampire whom Lisa falls for. Alas, Edmund’s father, a.k.a. Dracula, and Homer try to squash the budding romance. “Daniel was very excited to do The Simpsons,” says Jean, “and we kept trying to ask him for secrets from the upcoming Harry Potter movie until we realized that they were all in the books.”

Now, no being mean to Twlilight, in comments - they are a teeny, tiny film franchise, and we are bigger than that.

While I am here: it's that time again... Dan is up for Hello Magazine's Most Attractive Man - Weekly Vote. He is behind some pretty stiff competition for the week, and the week's winner faces something of a challenge from November's other weekly winners.

But go here and vote as often as the site and your conscience allow.

Thanks Frenchi, Barbara, radcakesfan and Jen for the links.

Birthday Project Update

Exclusives - Exclusives

We know, you have been on tenterhooks1 waiting for the final total on the Demelza House Birthday Collection.

And then there were all the fabulous Words you submitted, for the birthday project.

The Project was on the same sever as the late lamented Forum, and were both wiped out.

Eaten.

So, while Jenna apologises for not having the new Forum in place, yet - she is working on it - she has the following treat for us, courtesy of the talented Juliet, the sites graphic designer, depicting the amount raised for Demelza House for Dan's birthday along with a summary of the birthday project definitions that people sent in.

Birthday Project

Also, consider this a pre-warning that Jenna will be organising a general Demelza fund-raiser for Christmas soon, with our traditional fan messages.

1tenterhooks (OK, that has nothing to do with the post, I just used the expression and had no idea where it came from, and felt I needed to look it up, and then felt I needed to share...)

UPDATE : Jenna just raised a finely sculpted eyebrow and reminded me to let you know that Dan was very appreciative of the amount raised for Demelza House - he was kept up to date at the New York premiere for HBP, before final totals were even... totalled...

*UPDATE* Daniel Radcliffe Narrates 2010 Holocaust Memorial Day Film

Videos - Miscellaneous
Once more showing maturity far beyond his years and how much he cares about important issues, Dan has recorded the narration for the 2010 Holocaust Memorial Day short film, The Legacy of Hope.

The film focuses on survivors’ stories and can be watched here.

Like the first survivor in the film, I lost family in Piotrkow Trybunalski and I am in tears.

Thank you Emma, for the link.

UPDATE : In a press release from the HMDT, Carly Whyborn, Chief Executive Officer, Holocaust Memorial Day Trust, said: “We are delighted that Daniel Radcliffe is once again lending his support to HMD. With this year's theme - The Legacy of Hope – it is entirely fitting that Daniel, who is so well known amongst younger audiences, has narrated our film, which will be shown at HMD events across the UK. Through the film, people will have the opportunity to listen to the memories of survivors like Ben, Lily and Iby and think about what action they can take after HMD which will have a positive impact on their community.”

Daniel Radcliffe said, “"When I was approached to narrate this short film, The Legacy of Hope, I felt very privileged. I felt that in a very small way I was contributing to the remembrance of these tragic and horrendous events, whilst also commemorating all those people who refused to let the horrors they had lived through dictate the tone of the rest of their lives.

“The surest shield we have against future atrocities is our knowledge and our emotional understanding of what has happened in the past. The chance to help the vital work done by the Holocaust Memorial Day Trust could not be turned down."

UPDATE : as it says in the comments : If you liked the film then why not be part of The Legacy of Hope and see what you can do to build a safer future together www.hmd.org.uk

Fish. Dan, Really?

Videos - Film Projects

For me, the next best thing to speaking with Dan at a red carpet premiere is speaking with the always delightful Tom Felton, and by watching the following video clips sent in by our very own Sabine, I am sure you will understand why! The clips are hilarious, and we get to learn a few new things about Dan and his fellow HP cast mates.

Watch the clips by clicking here and here. Enjoy!

*Update* We now have a third video clip from the same 'series' featuring more questions by Tom, and you can watch it here, courtesy of the lovely folks over at Feltbeats.

[Don't think I wasn't proud of the widget, but I have put it behind the 'read more', because it was doing very unfortunate things to the rest of the page!! ]
